Landing pages that turn Google Ads clicks into calls and leads

How VibeAds builds a call-first landing page for every ad group, tests two versions from day one, picks winners at 95% confidence, and hosts it all for you.

Your ad got the click. Now get the call. 35 seconds, with sound.

Why does sending Google Ads clicks to your homepage waste money?

Sending Google Ads clicks to your homepage wastes money because the homepage is written for everyone, while the person who clicked asked about one job. Someone who searched for water heater repair lands on a page about your company, every service you offer, and a contact page two taps away. They have to find their answer and your phone number on their own, and you pay for the click either way.

A homepage has many jobs. A landing page has one: turn this click into a call or a request. For most home services that means a phone call, and many visitors are already on a phone, so the number can't hide in a menu or a footer.

Google looks at the page too: landing page experience is one of the three parts of Quality Score, alongside expected click-through rate and ad relevance.

What does a good landing page for a service business do?

A good landing page for a service business does four things: it repeats what the visitor searched for, it makes calling the easiest thing to do, it asks only what you need to call back, and it gives a stranger real reasons to trust you. Anything that doesn't help with one of those four can go.

JobWhat it meansHow VibeAds pages do it
Message matchThe first thing a visitor reads names their serviceOne page per ad group, opening with that ad group's service
Call firstYour number is one tap away on a phoneNumber at the top, a call bar on phones, a bottom bar that dials
Short formOnly what you need to call backTwo to four quick questions, then one contact form
TrustFacts, not hypeYour license, insurance and other facts, never invented reviews

Most owners know this list. The hard part is doing it for every ad group and knowing whether a change helped, which is the part we automate.

How does VibeAds build a landing page for every ad group?

On Pro and Max, VibeAds builds one landing page for each ad group when you publish, from the template for your trade. There are 30 category templates, mostly home services from plumbing, HVAC and electrical to roofing, pest control and tree service, plus a few other local services like dentists and lawyers.

Each page is built around its ad group. A water heater ad group opens with "What Water Heater Service Do You Need?" and answers written for that job, including tank replacement, tankless install, repair or service, and "No Hot Water!".

Every page carries your business name, logo, colors and phone number. Where we have search phrases for that ad group, the page also answers a few common questions built from them. Cost questions get an honest answer: what the price depends on and a written quote, never a made-up number.

These pages come from templates, not AI, so they cost no credits to build. Categories outside the 30 get an AI-written page for each ad group instead.

PlanWhere your ads can point
FreeOne AI-written page for the campaign, or your own website
Pro ($20/month)A template page for every ad group with an A/B test, AI-written pages, or your own website
Max ($149/month)Everything in Pro, plus unlimited custom domains and hands-free winner declaration

Searches for your own business name, or for a competitor's name if you add one, get a single page that skips the quiz.

What happens on the page, step by step?

A visitor answers two to four quick questions, sees a short step with facts about your business, then fills in one contact form. Most answers are a single tap, and the zip code is often filled in already from the visitor's location.

Here is a plumbing page for a water heater ad group:

StepWhat the visitor seesWhy
1"What Water Heater Service Do You Need?"Confirms they're in the right place
2How urgent the job isSeparates emergencies from planners
3Zip codeChecks the job is in your area
4"Why customers choose" your businessTrust, from facts you entered
5Name and phone, plus optional detailsThe lead

Other trades ask other things: roofing asks how big the project is, and dental asks whether the visitor is a new or existing patient. If a plumbing visitor picks the emergency answer, the page skips straight to the contact form.

Every template asks for a name and a phone number, and some trades also require email and zip. The page records which ad click the visitor came from, so the lead is credited to the right ad.

Answers are saved as the visitor goes, so your campaign page shows a step-by-step drop-off chart of where people stop. If you connect Jobber, each lead from these pages is created there as a client and a request.

What makes a landing page call-first?

A call-first page keeps your phone number one tap away from the moment it loads, because for most home services the call is the conversion. VibeAds trade pages put the number at the top, add a call bar on phones, and make the bottom bar dial you instead of scrolling to the form.

  • Number at the top, as a tap-to-call link on every page with a phone number.
  • A call bar on phones that slides up after a moment ("Need help now? Tap to Call" on emergency-heavy trades) and steps aside while the visitor is typing.
  • A bottom bar that dials on trade pages like plumbing, HVAC, roofing and cleaning. On dental, legal, insurance and similar pages it scrolls to the form instead.
  • Buttons that follow the answer. On templates like plumbing and HVAC, picking an emergency answer changes the buttons to "Get Emergency Help Now" and "Call Now for Emergency Help".
  • Calls are counted. Every tap on your number goes to your Google Ads conversion tracking as a phone call click.

With call tracking on Pro or Max, the page shows your tracking number, so those calls are tracked too.

How are landing pages for urgent searches different?

Urgent searches get a single page instead of a quiz, with a big call button at the top followed by a short callback form. Someone searching "burst pipe" or "locked out" wants a person on the phone now, not three questions, so the whole page is built around the call.

An ad group counts as urgent when our category knowledge marks it as an emergency service, like Emergency Plumbing, or when its name includes words such as emergency, burst, locked out or no heat.

On the ad side, urgent ad groups also get your call asset attached at the ad group level, tying your number to those ads directly.

How does the A/B test pick a winner?

Every quiz page and urgent page we build starts with two versions on day one, A and B. New visitors are split between them at random, we count leads per visitor for each version, and once one version is ahead with 95% confidence it can be declared the winner and becomes the page everyone sees.

Version B takes a more urgent tone: different button text, a different accent color and, on quiz pages where the second question is only about timing, one fewer question. Questions that qualify the lead, like a dentist's "new or existing patient?", stay.

The split is kept fair:

  • Each new visitor gets A or B at random, with equal odds.
  • A cookie keeps a returning visitor on the same version for 30 days, and they are counted once.
  • Google's own crawlers are never put in the test. They always see the main page.

A win means more completed contact forms per visitor. Calls from the page are tracked, but they don't count toward this test.

We judge the numbers with a two-proportion z-test, the standard way to compare two conversion rates, starting once each version has 30 visitors. Your campaign's Overview tab shows each version's visitors, leads and conversion rate, then the leader's confidence or roughly how many more visitors are needed.

A winner gets declared in one of two ways:

  • By you. At 95% confidence the card shows a "Declare Winner" button, which asks you to confirm because the winner becomes the permanent page.
  • By the agent. At 95% confidence with at least 100 visitors on each version, the VibeAds agent recommends declaring it. On Pro you approve it with one tap. On Max with hands-free on, the agent applies it for you.

Either way, the other version is switched off and every visitor sees the winner.

On a small budget a test can take a while to reach 95%, and that is fine: both versions keep running, and nothing is declared on thin data. Our guide to A/B testing Google Ads landing pages goes deeper.

Where are the pages hosted, and how does the free domain work?

We host every page for you, so there is nothing to install and no page builder to learn. Pages live at an address based on your business name, like yourbusiness.localad.app/water-heater, and on Pro and Max you can move them to your own domain, including one we register for you free for the first year.

  1. Connect a domain you own. Add a CNAME or ALIAS record at your DNS provider and we issue the security certificate automatically. Pro includes up to 5 custom domains, and Max is unlimited.
  2. Claim one from the Domains page. Pro and Max include one free domain per account, on .com, .net, .org or .us (.us is for US businesses).

The free domain, plainly:

  • It is registered in your name from day one. You own it, not us.
  • You'll get an email asking you to confirm your contact details, which ICANN rules require. If nobody confirms within 15 days, the domain has to be suspended.
  • While we pay for it, it is locked against transfer to another registrar. Ask and we will remove the lock.
  • It is attached to the campaign you pick as soon as its security certificate is live.
  • We email you about two months before the year ends. Renew at cost through VibeAds or let it expire, with nothing charged automatically. If you don't renew, your ads move back to your hosted address a week before it expires.

The custom domains docs cover the DNS step.

What does VibeAds check after a page goes live?

Once a page is live, we check every hour that it still loads, and we run Google's mobile PageSpeed test on it at most once a day while it is getting visits. A broken page gets flagged instead of quietly taking clicks you are paying for.

Each hourly check tries the page up to three times, about 5 seconds apart, so one slow response doesn't set off an alarm. If all three fail, the page is marked broken and the agent raises a critical recommendation to pause that ad group until it is back. Pausing always waits for your approval, even on Max with hands-free on.

These checks cover the pages we host, not your own website.

What stays in your control?

You decide where each campaign's ads point, which facts your pages show, and when a test winner goes live. The defaults need no setup.

  • Where ads point. At the strategy review step, choose template pages (the default on Pro and Max), AI-written pages, or "Use My Website".
  • Trust facts. The Trust Signals card in Settings holds your license number, insurance, BBB accreditation, year founded, certifications, guarantees and awards. Only what you fill in appears, plus a free-quote line and your service city. We never put invented reviews or star ratings on your pages.
  • Business details. Your name, phone and address come from your business profile in Settings, and your logo and colors from campaign setup.

The landing pages docs list every option.

FAQ: Landing pages for local service ads

Do you need a website to run Google Ads with VibeAds?

No. We host the pages your ads point to: a page for every ad group on Pro and Max, and one page for the campaign on the Free plan.

Can you send your ads to your own website instead?

Yes. Turn on "Use My Website" at the strategy review step and enter an https address. That page won't get our A/B testing or our hourly checks.

How long does an A/B test take?

It depends on traffic, not the calendar. Nothing is calculated until each version has 30 visitors, a winner needs 95% confidence, and the agent waits for at least 100 visitors on each version before recommending one.

No. Our template pages are marked so search engines don't list them, while Google's ad crawlers can still reach them to review the page behind your ads.

What happens to the free domain after the first year?

It stays yours, because it is registered in your name. Renew it at cost through VibeAds or let it expire. Nothing renews or charges automatically.

Which trades have templates?

Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, painting, landscaping, pest control, cleaning, junk removal, auto repair, Christmas lighting, moving, pool service, carpet and flooring, waterproofing, pressure washing, windows and doors, garage doors, appliance repair, locksmith, handyman, fencing and tree service, plus dentists, lawyers, real estate, insurance, financial services, education and healthcare.

Bottom line

Your ad's job is the click. The page's job is the call. For a local service business, that means a page for each ad group that repeats the search, keeps your number one tap away, asks only what you need, and shows facts you can stand behind.

VibeAds builds those pages from templates made for your trade, A/B tests every quiz and urgent page from day one, only calls a winner at 95% confidence, and hosts it all with a free first-year domain. It's included with Pro ($20 a month) and Max ($149 a month); see pricing for details.
