Is there a best AI tool for medical practice Google Ads?
For an independent clinic or urgent care that wants local patients from Google Search, VibeAds covers the basics: campaigns for urgent care, walk-in and primary care searches, a negative list for medical school, nursing jobs and symptom lookups, and call tracking, from $20/month. It does not connect to Tebra, an EHR or a scheduling system, and it is not a HIPAA compliance service. Local Services Ads list primary care physicians and chiropractors. Health systems, and services Google restricts such as addiction treatment, telemedicine prescribing or online pharmacies, usually need a healthcare marketing agency and Google certification first.

Google's health ad rules
- Healthcare and medicines policy. Some services are restricted or need certification, including addiction services and online pharmacies (policy).
- No health-based audiences. Health is a sensitive interest category, so ads for health services cannot use advertiser-curated audiences such as remarketing lists or Customer Match (policy). Search keywords and location targeting still work.
- Local Services limits. Google notes that booking leads and pre-badge ads are not available for health care verticals (LSA help).
- Tracking and privacy. VibeAds installs Google Tag Manager and GA4 when it publishes a campaign. If your site handles patient information, have your compliance contact review what is tracked before launch.
Urgent care dominates the search volume
| Keyword | Cities priced | Median low bid | Median high bid | What they need |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| urgent care near me | 50 | $1.63 | $6.88 | Needs care now |
| urgent care | 50 | $1.69 | $6.18 | Needs care soon |
| walk in clinic near me | 42 | $1.90 | $7.02 | Needs care now |
| kids urgent care near me | 7 | $2.09 | $10.24 | Parent, needs care now |
| primary care near me | 13 | $3.42 | $11.15 | Looking for a doctor |
| primary care provider | 48 | $3.08 | $9.04 | Looking for a doctor |
| primary doctors near me | 20 | $2.81 | $9.77 | Looking for a doctor |
| family medicine | 2 | $4.57 | $17.46 | Looking for a doctor |
| pap smear | 45 | $2.01 | $9.04 | Specific screening |
Bid figures are Google Keyword Planner top-of-page bid estimates pulled for 50 US cities in September 2026. They are what advertisers bid to reach the top of the page, not what a click costs you; your real cost per click is usually lower and moves with Quality Score.
Urgent care and walk-in searches were 89% of head-term volume in our basket, and primary care 5%. The striking number is price: "urgent care near me" had a median of 12,100 monthly searches per city but bids of only $1.63 to $6.88. Low bids on that much volume usually mean advertisers find those clicks hard to turn into visits. Primary care bid a little higher ($3.08 to $9.04 for "primary care provider") because a new primary care patient is worth years of visits.
| City | Median low bid | Median high bid | Priced keywords | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Highest | Austin | $3.15 | $10.36 | 409 |
| Highest | Atlanta | $2.94 | $10.00 | 450 |
| Highest | Albuquerque | $2.15 | $9.55 | 184 |
| Middle of 50 cities | $2.17 | $7.17 | ||
| Lowest | El Paso | $1.67 | $4.17 | 193 |
| Lowest | Fresno | $1.27 | $4.27 | 114 |
| Lowest | Minneapolis | $1.63 | $4.81 | 278 |

Negatives for clinics
| Group | From VibeAds' healthcare list |
|---|---|
| Education and careers | nursing school, medical school, residency, healthcare jobs, nurse salary, cna training, lpn program, mcat |
| Products | medical supplies buy, medical equipment, first aid kit, blood pressure monitor |
| Information sites | webmd, mayo clinic, symptoms of |
| Home health | home health aide, home health aide salary |
| Price | cheap, cheapest |
VibeAds keeps "exam" out of its universal blocklist for healthcare, because "physical exam" and "wellness exam" are appointment types. If you run a sliding-scale clinic, remove "cheap".
The page a patient needs
Show wait times or same-day availability, insurance accepted, self-pay prices if you post them, hours, address with a map, and a call button. For primary care, add the clinicians' names and whether they are accepting new patients. Do not make claims about outcomes. VibeAds builds one page per ad group (landing pages video).
Season
The curve our planner uses for healthcare is highest in January (about 20% above average) and lowest in June, July and December.
What VibeAds does not do for medical practices
- No Tebra, EHR, patient portal or scheduling connection, so booked visits are not reported to Google automatically.
- No HIPAA review, BAA or privacy compliance service.
- No help with Google's healthcare certifications.
- No Local Services Ads, Meta or review management.
- Reviews twice a day; on Max, only small bid changes and wasted-search blocks are hands-free, after a campaign's first week.
Is Google Ads worth it for urgent care?
Often, because clicks were cheap in our data and patients choose fast. The catch is that many urgent care searches are answered by the map results, so make sure your Google Business Profile shows accurate hours and wait times before paying for ads, and track calls so you know which ads brought visits.
Can a medical practice use remarketing on Google Ads?
Generally not for health services. Google treats health as a sensitive interest category, which rules out advertiser-curated audiences such as remarketing lists and Customer Match for those ads. Keyword and location targeting are the main tools.
