What's the best AI tool for a dental practice's Google Ads?
For an independent practice that wants new patients from Google Search, VibeAds can do the core job: campaigns for "dentist near me", pediatric, family and cosmetic searches, a negative list that blocks toothbrush, whitening-kit, dental school and supply searches, and call tracking with AI scoring, from $20/month. It does not connect to Dentrix, Open Dental or Eaglesoft, so it cannot tell Google which calls became booked patients or production; you mark that in its CRM. Local Services Ads list dentists, which is worth testing for pay-per-lead calls. DSOs and multi-location groups usually work with a dental marketing agency.

Health ad rules that apply to dentists
- Google lists health among its sensitive interest categories. In practice that means no remarketing to past site visitors and no Customer Match uploads of your patient list for these ads (policy).
- Google's healthcare and medicines policy applies to health claims in ads.
- On Local Services, Google says health care verticals cannot use booking leads or pre-badge ads, so expect calls and messages only; confirm in setup how your dental listing is treated.
What dental searches cost
| Keyword | Cities priced | Median low bid | Median high bid | Who is searching |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| dentist near me | 50 | $6.03 | $23.34 | New patient, nearby |
| dentist office near me | 39 | $6.31 | $24.00 | New patient, nearby |
| dental clinic near me | 26 | $5.14 | $22.24 | Often price-sensitive |
| dentistry | 50 | $5.90 | $21.97 | General |
| pediatric dentist | 41 | $4.50 | $17.15 | Parent choosing for a child |
| kids dentist near me | 14 | $5.84 | $21.23 | Parent, nearby |
| cosmetic dentist | 17 | $4.11 | $18.22 | Elective work |
| family dentist | 11 | $2.37 | $11.06 | Whole family |
Bid figures are Google Keyword Planner top-of-page bid estimates pulled for 50 US cities in September 2026. They are what advertisers bid to reach the top of the page, not what a click costs you; your real cost per click is usually lower and moves with Quality Score.
"Dentist near me" was the volume leader, with a median of 6,000 monthly searches per city, and "near me" phrasing made up 58% of head-term volume. Its bids ran $6.03 to $23.34. Pediatric searches were cheaper ($17.15 high) and worth a separate campaign if you see children. Our data also included other practices' names (for example "comfort dentistry" with a median of 2,150 searches and a $5.72 high bid); those are people looking for a specific office, and bidding on another practice's name rarely pays.
| City | Low bid | High bid | Monthly searches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seattle | $11.88 | $59.14 | 12,100 |
| Austin | $12.43 | $45.00 | 12,100 |
| Raleigh | $8.90 | $43.15 | 4,400 |
| Baltimore | $4.85 | $13.78 | 6,600 |
| Omaha | $4.13 | $13.55 | 2,900 |
| New Orleans | $4.60 | $12.03 | 2,900 |

Negatives for a dental office
| Group | From VibeAds' dentist list |
|---|---|
| Home care products | toothbrush, toothpaste, whitening strips, whitening kit, mouthwash, teeth whitening at home |
| School and careers | dental school, dental board exam, dental assistant, dental hygienist school, dat exam |
| Supplies | dental supplies, dental equipment buy, dental supply company |
| Anatomy | dental diagram, tooth anatomy |
| Price shoppers | cheap, cheapest |
VibeAds keeps "exam" off the universal blocklist for dentists, since "dental exam" and "new patient exam" are appointment types. If you offer low-cost care or accept Medicaid, remove "cheap" and say so in the ads.
New-patient pages
New patients decide on insurance accepted, location, hours and how soon they can be seen. Put those above the fold, along with a new-patient offer if you have one, real photos of your office and team, and online booking or a click-to-call button. Separate pages for emergency visits, implants and cosmetic work will convert better than one general page. VibeAds builds a page per ad group (landing pages video).
Season
Dental demand in our planner's curve has two peaks, January and September, each about a fifth above a normal month, with the quietest stretch in early summer and again in December.
What VibeAds does not do for dentists
- No Dentrix, Open Dental or Eaglesoft connection, so no production or booked-patient data goes to Google.
- No online scheduling integration.
- Not a HIPAA compliance service. VibeAds installs Google Tag Manager and GA4 when it publishes; if your site collects patient information, have your compliance contact review tracking before launch.
- No Local Services Ads, Meta or review management.
- The agent checks campaigns twice daily. Max can act alone on two things only, small bid moves and blocking search terms that spent without results, and only once a campaign is a week old.
Is Google Ads worth it for a dental practice?
For most independent practices, yes, if you bid on new-patient searches near the office, block the product and school traffic, and answer the phone. A new patient often stays for years, so judge campaigns on booked new-patient appointments, not cost per click.
Should a dentist bid on "emergency dentist"?
If you hold same-day slots, yes, with its own campaign and an ad schedule that matches your hours. Emergency patients call rather than fill forms, so call tracking matters most there.
