What's the best AI tool for a fence company's Google Ads?
For an owner-run fence installer, VibeAds is the strongest fit: separate install and repair campaigns, a negative list that blocks sport fencing and DIY panel and stain shoppers, call tracking with AI scoring, and Jobber lead sync, from $20/month. Local Services Ads list fencing services and should run beside Search. Ryze AI suits companies that also run Meta ads, and contractors bidding on commercial and HOA work usually want a PPC agency.
Shortlist with prices (checked October 9, 2026)
Starting prices from each tool's own pricing or help page, linked in the first column. You also pay Google for your clicks with every option except Local Services Ads, which charge per lead.
| Tool | For | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| VibeAds | Owner-run fence installers on Google Search | Free plan publishes 1 live campaign; Pro $20/mo; Max $149/mo |
| Google Local Services Ads | Pay-per-lead placement; fencing services are listed | Pay per lead, not per click |
| Google AI Max for Search | Broader matching once negatives are in place | No extra fee; you pay Google for clicks |
| Ryze AI | Fence companies also advertising on Meta | Paid Ads $89/mo, 7-day free trial |
| Unbounce | Material-by-material quote pages | Starter $29/mo, or $22/mo billed yearly |
| A PPC agency | Multi-crew or commercial fence contractors | Quoted per client |

First problem: "fencing" is also a sport
Any broad match on "fencing" will find people looking for epee lessons, fencing clubs and Olympic results. VibeAds' fencing list blocks those by default:
| Group | Blocked terms |
|---|---|
| Sport | fencing sport, fencing sword, fencing mask, fencing lessons, fencing club, epee, foil, sabre fencing, olympic fencing |
| DIY materials | fence posts buy, fence panels buy, fence panels home depot, fence boards, chain link fence buy |
| Stain and paint | best fence stain, how to stain a fence, fence paint colors |
| Jobs | fence salary, fence installer jobs |
What fence searches cost
Across 29 cities with enough data:
| Keyword | Cities priced | Median low bid | Median high bid | Intent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| fence company near me | 29 | $7.85 | $33.08 | Choosing an installer |
| fence company | 29 | $7.45 | $34.95 | Choosing an installer |
| fencing contractors near me | 24 | $8.57 | $36.41 | Choosing an installer |
| fence installation near me | 18 | $9.14 | $31.95 | Install, nearby |
| fence installation | 23 | $5.56 | $20.00 | Install |
| fence repair near me | 12 | $6.23 | $22.29 | Repair, nearby |
| vinyl fence installation | 4 | $3.56 | $14.16 | Specific material |
| fence suppliers near me | 9 | $2.03 | $9.58 | Buying materials |
| hurricane fence cost | 6 | $1.78 | $8.81 | Pricing chain link |
Bid figures are Google Keyword Planner top-of-page bid estimates pulled for 50 US cities in September 2026. They are what advertisers bid to reach the top of the page, not what a click costs you; your real cost per click is usually lower and moves with Quality Score.
"Near me" searches made up 58% of head-term volume. Repair ran well below installation ($22.29 high bid for "fence repair near me" against $33.08 for "fence company near me"), which makes repair a cheaper way to meet homeowners who may need a full replacement later. "Fence suppliers near me" is mostly DIY buyers; unless you sell materials, add it as a negative.
The city spread
"Fence company near me" in Portland had a high-end bid about 13 times New York's:
| City | Low bid | High bid | Monthly searches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portland | $12.12 | $112.63 | 140 |
| Seattle | $13.96 | $101.88 | 390 |
| Tampa | $12.16 | $72.81 | 390 |
| Miami | $4.85 | $15.92 | 260 |
| Philadelphia | $4.53 | $14.58 | 390 |
| New York | $2.26 | $8.46 | 880 |
New York had the most searches of these cities and the lowest bids, so volume alone is a poor guide to cost. City pages: Columbus, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia.
Quote pages that work
Fence buyers compare material, height and price per foot. Give each material its own ad group and page (wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminum), show real installs from your area, and ask for linear footage or a rough property sketch in the form. Mention permits and HOA approvals if you handle them. A call button still belongs at the top. VibeAds builds one page per ad group (landing pages video).
Timing
The curve our budget planner uses rises to about 40% above an average month in April and May and falls to about 40% of average in December. Ground conditions in your area matter more than the national curve.
What VibeAds will not do for a fence company
- Measure or quote jobs, or connect to fence-specific estimating software. Jobber is its only field-service integration.
- Manage Local Services Ads, Meta or Nextdoor.
- Watch campaigns continuously; it reviews them twice a day.
- Change budgets or ads without asking. On Max, hands-free mode is limited to small bid changes and blocking clearly wasted searches, after a campaign's first 7 days.
Should a fence company advertise repairs?
Usually yes, as its own campaign. Repair clicks were cheaper in our data, the jobs are fast, and an old fence that needs repair is often a replacement in a year or two. Keep repair budget small and track which repair customers come back for installs.
Is "hurricane fence" worth bidding on?
It is a regional name for chain link. "Hurricane fence cost" was priced in 6 cities at a $8.81 high bid, low enough that it may be worth a small test if you install chain link, with a page that shows chain link pricing.
