The best fit for a moving company
Local movers with a few trucks are the best fit for VibeAds: local, commercial and specialty move campaigns, negatives that block truck-rental, box and packing-supply shoppers, call tracking with AI lead scoring, and Jobber lead sync, from $20/month. Local Services Ads list moving services and charge per lead. Interstate movers spending heavily across many states usually want an agency or Performance Max with offline booking data.

Bid figures are Google Keyword Planner top-of-page bid estimates pulled for 50 US cities in September 2026. They are what advertisers bid to reach the top of the page, not what a click costs you; your real cost per click is usually lower and moves with Quality Score.
"Mover box" had a median of 590 monthly searches per city, and "rental truck for moving" 390, both with low bids. Those people are moving themselves. The hiring terms are where competition sits: "moving company" bid $13.68 to $45.31. Commercial moves were close behind ("business moving companies near me", $42.89 high) and are worth a separate campaign if you do office moves.
| City | Low bid | High bid | Monthly searches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Milwaukee | $17.82 | $124.44 | 260 |
| Denver | $12.63 | $61.42 | 1,600 |
| Portland | $11.28 | $59.98 | 1,000 |
| Houston | $8.65 | $28.98 | 4,400 |
| Baltimore | $10.13 | $27.96 | 590 |
| Fresno | $10.12 | $27.45 | 260 |

Negatives
| Group | From VibeAds' moving list |
|---|---|
| Truck rental | uhaul, u-haul, penske, budget truck, truck rental, van rental, moving truck rental |
| Boxes and supplies | moving boxes buy, boxes buy, packing supplies, packing tape, bubble wrap buy |
| Tips | packing tips, moving checklist, moving tips |
| Housing and jobs | apartments for rent, houses for sale, mover salary, moving jobs |
VibeAds keeps "college" out of the universal blocklist for movers, because "college student moving" and dorm moves are real seasonal work. If you offer labor-only help loading rental trucks, remove the truck rental group and write a labor-only ad group instead.
Quotes, trust and the phone
Moving buyers worry about surprise charges. A page that explains how you price (hourly with a minimum, or a binding estimate), what is included, your licensing and insurance, and real crew photos will convert better than a long inventory form. Ask for move date, home size and zip codes first; collect inventory on the call. VibeAds builds one page per ad group (landing pages video) and keeps every quote request in its lead CRM (lead CRM video).
Summer decides the year
The curve our planner uses for moving:
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Relative demand | 0.8 | 0.8 | 0.9 | 1.0 | 1.3 | 1.5 | 1.5 | 1.4 | 1.1 | 0.9 | 0.8 | 0.7 |
If your trucks are booked solid in July, raise prices or narrow ads to high-value moves rather than paying for leads you cannot serve.
Where VibeAds falls short for movers
- No connection to moving software such as SmartMoving, MoveitPro or Supermove; Jobber is the only field-service integration.
- No interstate lead-buying or pay-per-lead marketplace tools.
- No Local Services Ads or Meta management.
- Twice-daily reviews. On Max, only small bid changes and blocks of wasted searches run without your approval, after the first 7 days.
Should moving companies bid on "U-Haul" or truck rental searches?
No, unless you sell labor-only loading help. Those searchers have chosen to move themselves. In our data "rental truck for moving" had a $10.02 high bid, a sign that advertisers see little return there, and the big rental brands are on VibeAds' default negative list.
How much should a local mover spend on Google Ads?
Size budgets to the season and your capacity. The middle city in our data bid $5.73 to $20.50 across moving terms; plan to spend most of your annual budget from May to August and keep winter campaigns narrow.
