Updated October 9, 2026, by the founder of VibeAds. VibeAds is one of the options below, and it was built mainly for home service trades; this page is specific about what carries over to insurance.
The short answer for insurance agents
An independent agency that wants local quote requests from Google Search is the best fit for VibeAds: it builds the campaign, blocks claims, license-exam and comparison-site searches, and tracks and scores quote calls, from $20/month. A captive agent should start with the carrier: most carriers have rules about how their brand appears in ads, and many run co-op or approved-vendor programs. Local Services Ads list insurance agencies only in California and Florida. If you also sell on Meta, Ryze AI covers both platforms. VibeAds does not connect to AgencyZoom, EZLynx, HawkSoft or any agency management system, so it cannot learn from bound policies.

What the data says about insurance searches
Our September 2026 keyword basket for insurance leaned toward personal lines and health: about 62% of head-term search volume was health or Medicare related, and it did not include auto, home, life or commercial terms. Read the numbers with that in mind.
| Keyword | Cities priced | Median low bid | Median high bid | Likely intent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| insurance close to me | 29 | $17.21 | $64.02 | Local agent, ready to talk |
| insurance broker | 28 | $16.62 | $42.44 | Wants someone to shop carriers |
| insurance agent | 5 | $11.42 | $45.96 | Local agent |
| renters insurance | 50 | $15.62 | $34.45 | Specific product, often price shopping |
| umbrella insurance | 5 | $4.37 | $14.40 | Existing customer adding coverage |
| individual health insurance | 34 | $4.74 | $16.06 | Health plan shopping |
| medicare savings program | 49 | $2.46 | $38.40 | Government program help |
| private medical insurance | 50 | $0.50 | $3.98 | Mostly research |
Bid figures are Google Keyword Planner top-of-page bid estimates pulled for 50 US cities in September 2026. They are what advertisers bid to reach the top of the page, not what a click costs you; your real cost per click is usually lower and moves with Quality Score.
Two things stand out. Local intent costs the most: "insurance close to me" was priced in 29 cities at a median of $17.21 to $64.02, the highest high-end bid in the basket. And volume can mislead: "private medical insurance" had a median of 590 monthly searches per city but a high bid of $3.98, and "medicare savings program" searchers are often looking for a state benefit rather than an agent.
Unusually, the cheapest big cities were the expensive-rent ones: Seattle, New York and San Francisco had the lowest high-end medians, while Colorado Springs, Wichita and Philadelphia had the highest.
| City | Median low bid | Median high bid | Priced keywords | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Highest | Colorado Springs | $5.47 | $22.24 | 256 |
| Highest | Wichita | $5.74 | $22.21 | 179 |
| Highest | Philadelphia | $5.42 | $21.78 | 478 |
| Middle of 50 cities | $5.20 | $18.22 | ||
| Lowest | Seattle | $3.25 | $14.58 | 427 |
| Lowest | New York | $3.78 | $14.69 | 975 |
| Lowest | San Francisco | $4.60 | $14.87 | 355 |
City pages: New York, Houston, Denver, Boston, Jacksonville, Las Vegas.
Negative keywords for agencies
| Group | Examples from VibeAds' insurance list |
|---|---|
| Existing claims | file a claim, claim denied, insurance claim, claims adjustor |
| Careers | insurance agent salary, insurance license exam, insurance school, underwriter salary, actuary |
| Definitions | what is insurance, insurance definition, types of insurance |
| Comparison sites and apps | policygenius, the zebra, jerry insurance |
| Fraud and complaints | insurance fraud, insurance scam |
VibeAds keeps "employer" out of the universal job filter for insurance on purpose, because employer-sponsored coverage is a real search.
Policy and targeting notes
- Health insurance ads fall under Google's healthcare and medicines policy, which has its own rules for health insurance; check it before running Medicare or ACA campaigns, along with CMS marketing rules if they apply to you.
- Carrier brand names in ads and keywords may need carrier permission.
- Local Services Ads are listed for insurance agencies in California and Florida only (category list).
The quote page
A quote request page should ask for the minimum: line of insurance, ZIP, name, phone and a preferred call time. Show your license number, the carriers you write, and a real photo of the office. Calls convert better than forms for many agencies, so put the phone number at the top. VibeAds builds a page per ad group (landing pages video) and scores calls so a claims call does not count as a lead (call tracking video).
When to spend
Our budget planner's insurance curve is highest in January (about 30% above an average month) and in November and December, which lines up with open enrollment and renewals, and dips in summer.
Honest limits
- No connection to AgencyZoom or other agency software, so bidding learns from calls and forms, not bound premiums.
- Not set up for carrier brand approvals or co-op reimbursement.
- Not a compliance tool for Medicare or ACA marketing.
- No Local Services Ads or Meta management.
- On Max, only small bid changes and wasteful search-term blocks run without approval, after a campaign's first week; reviews happen twice a day.
Should a captive agent use a third-party AI tool?
Check your carrier agreement first. Many carriers restrict how their name appears and offer their own approved programs. If your agreement lets you run your own Search ads, a tool like VibeAds can manage them, but carrier rules come first.
Are Local Services Ads available for insurance agents?
Only in California and Florida, according to Google's US category list as of October 2026. Elsewhere, Google Search ads are the main paid option on Google.
Why are insurance clicks so expensive?
The expensive clicks in our data were local, agent-seeking searches, not insurance terms in general. "Renters insurance" was priced in all 50 cities with a median high bid of $34.45, while "insurance close to me" reached $64.02. Bidding on fewer, more local terms usually wastes less than bidding on broad product names.
